In February, rapper iHeartMemphis barricaded himself inside his Florida home, livestreamed the entire ordeal on social media, and was eventually taken into custody by SWAT after an hours-long standoff.

Now, the mother of his child is speaking out on where he stands today.

The update came from Coco Bliss, who sat down with Andy Bachman on the Tuesday, March 17 episode of Creators Think. Bachman, the founder and CEO of Creators Inc., asked the 24-year-old TikTok star about iHeartMemphis' two mugshots from the ordeal.

"When I saw the first mugshot, I was like, oh my God, he's lost," she said. "That's not him. You can just see it in the eyes." But the second one told a different story. After being hospitalized and processed again, something had shifted. "He just looked so much more to life," she continued. "His face was fuller. His eyes were gentle, more kind. You could see the soul behind them."

Bliss, whose real name is Cholee Land, told Bachman that the "Hit the Quan" hitmaker is currently incarcerated but completely sober, coherent, and taking full responsibility for what happened. During video calls from jail, she said he's been apologetic and has expressed interest in becoming a mental health advocate once he's released.

Bachman dropped the clip on TikTok, and it immediately drew a wave of emotional reactions.

"For everyone saying he would never change, I believe he was not getting no sleep, not getting no sleep can make a person not be themselves. I am so glad Memphis is doing better," one person wrote.

"Anyone judging has never been in love," another pointed out.

"I actually like how Coco didn't leave him behind when he was struggling. She is a real ride or die," chimed in a third.

For the uninitiated, Bachman is a major player in the creator economy whose company recently launched Creator Music Group alongside Mega Millions Music. The venture kicked off with Alina Rose's debut single 'Hobby' featuring Lil Pump and legendary producer Scott Storch. He was also once recognized by the White House as one of the top entrepreneurs under 30.

As for iHeartMemphis, whose real name is Richard Maurice Colbert, he is best known for his 2015 viral song "Hit the Quan," which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. On February 10, he was arrested on charges of making written “threats to kill” and resisting an officer after the livestream, which drew over 20,000 viewers in real time.

According to a CBS News Miami report, a family member had been trying to get Colbert help for days before the incident. Bliss herself had also attempted to have him involuntarily committed beforehand.

The Miami native and Colbert, 32, share a daughter, Lael, born in January 2025. Despite their public breakup in 2023, Bliss has remained vocal about supporting him through the crisis.

"That's why you never ever give up on the people you love," she wrote on Snapchat shortly after his arrest. "Mental health is very real."
