Watch the First Trailer for Tom Hardy's FX Series 'Taboo'

Bloody, intense, with nude Tom Hardy.

Tom Hardy gets very intense and also very naked in an upcoming FX show, Taboo, on which he stars and is executive producer alongside famed director Ridley Scott. The first trailer above, which looks super dramatic (and let's be real, expensive as hell), depicts Hardy as James Keziah Delaney, an adventurer who comes back to Britain from Africa, seeking revenge on the East India Company after his father's death. "I am a very dangerous man to know," he snarls like a 19th century Liam Neeson a la Taken.

The show was created by Steven Knight (who directed Tom Hardy in the one-man, single-location drama Locke and wrote for the BBC show Peaky Blinders) and Hardy co-wrote the story with his father Chips Hardy. Michael Kelly and Jonathan Pryce also star while Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing) will direct the first four episodes.

The eight-part drama series is set to air on FX in 2017.
