Pedro Pascal is speaking out against J.K. Rowling—and, let’s just say, he didn’t mince words.

The Last of Us actor took to Instagram this week to blast Rowling’s recent reaction to an anti-trans ruling in the United Kingdom. The sovereign state’s top court concluded that the terms “woman” and “sex” under the 2010 Equality Act refer only to “biological women and biological sex.” The court clarified that the ruling does not remove protections for transgender individuals, as they are still “protected from discrimination on the ground of gender reassignment”; however, a transgender individual wouldn’t be considered a woman within the context of equality laws.

Rowling, who has expressed longstanding anti-trans views, took to X to celebrate the April 16 ruling, posting a photo of herself smoking a cigar and holding a drink.

“I love it when a plan comes together,” she captioned the image. “#SupremeCourt#WomensRights.”

Writer/activist Tariq Ra’ouf criticized Rowling’s post, saying, the Harry Potter author was “reveling in the fact that she helped the UK Supreme Court define that transgender women are not women legally.”

“She’s just so proud of the work that she’s been doing for the last couple of years to stoke hatred and fear into the general public about a very small minority population that’s already some of the most misunderstood people on the Earth,” Ra’ouf said in an Instagram Reel. “That shit. That awful disgusting shit — that has consequences.”

Pascal co-signed a blistering take in the comments section: “Awful disgusting SHIT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

The 50-year-old actor has been a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ community. His sister, Lux Pascal, publicly came out as transgender several years ago. Lux Pascal spoke about her transition in a 2021 Spanish-language interview with Ya magazine, was “an important” part of her journey.

“He is also an artist and has been a guide,” she told the outlet. “He was one of the first people who gave me the things to form identity… For everyone in my family, my transition has been very natural. Almost something they expected to happen.”

Pedro Pascal reshared his sister’s cover story on Instagram along with a supportive message: “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” he wrote in the caption, which translates to, “My sister, my heart, our Lux.”
