An OnlyFans creator has entered a guilty plea for a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter after her client died of asphyxiation during a fetish session.
Michaela Rylaarsdam, 32, is expected to be sentenced to four years in prison next month as part of her plea deal related to the 2023 death of 56-year-old Michael Dale.
According to People, Rylaarsdam was initially charged with murder after a medical examiner determined his manner of death to be homicide because police found an unresponsive Dale with a plastic bag over his head.
Prosecutors said, in April 2023, Rylaarsdam was allegedly paid more than $11,000 by Dale, who asked that she wrap him in Saran Wrap "like a mummy," glue women’s boots on his feet, and seal his eyes shut by pouring adhesive.
Detective Chris Zack testified that he observed a text exchange between Rylaarsdam and Dale on her phone in which he made those specific requests. A video of the encounter, which was intended to be shared on OnlyFans, was also found, as well as photos of Dale with a plastic bag over his head, which were sent to Rylaarsdam’s husband.
After being found by authorities, Dale was hospitalized where he was declared brain dead. Dale passed away a few days later after he was taken off life support.
Attorneys for Rylaarsdam, a mother of three, argued in court that she performed lifesaving measures and called 911 in an effort to save Dale.
