Fans of Keanu Reeves' John Wick franchise and just the actor himself will be happy to know that his new movie, Shiver, now has a filming location.
The sci-fi movie is set to begin filming in the Dominican Republic in February 2026, according to Cinemaholic.
According to Cinemaholic, the Dominican Republic has been the filming location for other Hollywood movies, including Road House, The Killer, The Lost City, and Arthur the King.
Deadpool's director, Tim Miller, is directing Shiver.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the screenwriter is Ian Shorr, and the movie has been compared to the Tom Cruise alien invasion vehicle, Edge of Tomorrow.
What is Shiver's plot?
It's believed that Reeves will play a "ne’er-do-well smuggler who finds himself in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea," according to THR. He ends up "surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries and thirsty sharks alike," and then finds himself in a "deathly time loop."
Fans last saw Reeves in the movies Good Fortune (where he played an angel) and Ballerina. Neither was a massive hit. According to Deadline, Reeves has also been starring on Broadway.
Shorr previously wrote the Mark Wahlberg film Infinite.
The director also directed a movie in the Terminator series.
Fans on Reddit had generally positive things to say about Reeves and Shiver.
"Say what you want about Reeves as an actor, but he genuinely has some of the best work ethic in Hollywood," wrote one fan.
"I'm a sucker for time loop movies, so I'm already interested," wrote another.
"They had my curiosity…Keanu got my full-blown obsession," another fan wrote.
Fans also dissected Miller's past work. "So...a time loop film meets Jaws/Captain Phillips? Seems like it could be a fun playground for a movie," wrote a fan.
