Zendaya was “proud” of her longtime partner, Tom Holland, for his work in the upcoming adventure epic The Odyssey.
The actress, who also stars in the Christopher Nolan-directed movie as Athena, the goddess of wisdom, warfare and craftwork, discussed his work in the latest issue of ELLE.
“I could have cried, I was so proud,” the actress told ELLE about watching Holland behind the scenes on The Odyssey set. The couple do not appear in a scene together in the upcoming film.
“And then Spider-Man was a dream; I get to go to work every day with my best friend, the person that I love,” Zendaya continued. “We bring our dogs to work; it’s like a family affair. We grew up on those movies! It’s like coming home.”
The couple went public with their relationship in July 2021 and have allegedly gotten married recently, according to Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach. Holland and Zendaya got engaged in late 2024, and in March, The Drama star fueled marriage rumors by telling French outlet Views that a “perfect marriage” doesn’t exist.
Along with Odyssey, which comes to theaters on July 17, the couple will return to the MCU in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which debuts theatrically on July 31. Holland and Zendaya met during a 2016 chemistry read as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, respectively, in the 2017 movie Spider-Man: Homecoming.
