Taye Diggs wants another chance at love.

The actor, who stars in new Lifetime movie His, Hers & Ours, discussed his hopes of finding a forever partner with People in a story published Friday (October 31). Diggs, 54, shares a 16-year-old son, Walker, with his ex-wife, Broadway performer, actress and singer Idina Menzel, 54. The couple was married from 2003 to 2014. Diggs also briefly dated reality television personality Apryl Jones, who shares two children with Omarion.

Diggs told the outlet that when acting in romantic films, he can "pull on life experiences" better than when he was younger.

"I'm older now and I have certain boundaries and my tastes have changed and my patience is low. I can barely use my phone as it is!" he said about dating in his fifties.

"Now I have to use it to communicate with someone of the opposite sex? When do you text back? How long do you wait? Monosyllabic answers. I just don't know. It's been an interesting trip," he continued.

The entertainer added that he'll "never give up" on his search for love, although it's "not easy."

"It takes some work and attention. I'm taking it one day at a time because my taste will change hourly," he admitted. "I'll want to be in a relationship, having another kid, and then the next day I can imagine myself being single until I die. My moods are constantly swinging, so we'll see how it ends up."

In a separate interview with Us Weekly, Diggs said that his dating life has often been "awkward."

"It’s a little bit weird, it’s a little bit interesting," he said.
