Russell Brand isn't happy that his ex-wife, Katy Perry, has gotten romantically involved with Former Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.
The British comedian and media personality was a guest during a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday (December 18). TPUSA, co-founded by the late Charlie Kirk, is an organization that advocates for conservative politics in schools.
While at the event, Brand quipped about Perry's new relationship. Brand and 143 vocalist had a short-lived marriage from 2010 to 2012.
"Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her," Brand said onstage at the event. "I love her still, and I’m glad that her mom’s in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge."
It is unconfirmed if Perry's mother, Mary Perry, was at the event.
Perry and Bloom spent close to a decade together and share a daughter, Daisy Dove, 5, but broke up in June. The next month, the pop vocalist began dating Trudeau.
Earlier this month, Perry shared an Instagram carousel, which featured a picture of her and Trudeau embracing, along with a reel of them admiring an art exhibit.
Perry and Trudeau have mainly been mum about their relationship, but a source told Radar Online that the two are currently in a "honeymoon phase."
"All the things that were dragging her down just don't seem to matter to her since he came into her life," the source added.
