Owen Wilson Feared Being Asked to Dance During Travis Scott's Rolling Loud Set

Owen Wilson had an "unusual" time onstage with Travis Scott at last year's Rolling Loud — but managed to avoid his biggest fear.

In December, the Stick actor was a surprise guest during Scott's Rolling Loud Miami set, joining the UTOPIA rapper onstage for "FE!N." Shortly thereafter, it was announced that Wilson was starring in upcoming big-screen comedy set at the festival, scheduled to release in 2026.

But during a visit on Apple Music 1's The Zane Lowe Show on Tuesday (July 8), Wilson reflected on the Rolling Loud performance, which he admitted was indeed part of the film — and which he said he almost didn't take on.

The actor recalled people thinking that he and Scott were an "unusual pairing" but that he was "in character" while onstage.

"It was nice when I met him because then we did a scene and he's from Houston and he said that he loves [director] Wes Anderson," Wilson said around the two-minute mark of the interview.

Wilson added that it "helped" that his sons, Ford, 14, and Finn, 11, were present for the music festival, because the actor "couldn't back out of it."

"It was scary going up there, and I was talking to Travis's kind of hype man before I went on and I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't expected to dance, 'cause I'm not a dancer," Wilson added.

After some encouragement from the hype man, Wilson was onstage, where he had an "out-of-body experience" and felt an adrenaline rush.

"You can see how a lot of musicians have a hard time just shutting it down and going to bed when the show ends," he continued.

After shooting, Wilson continued to enjoy himself at the festival, where he also watched Sexyy Red perform.

ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
