O’Shea Jackson Jr., the oldest son of West Coast rap legend Ice Cube, recalls his father being grossed out by a beloved Nickelodeon classic.

On Wednesday (April 29), the Den of Thieves star reposted a tweet that called for users to share a fun fact about their fathers. Jackson shared a little-known fact about Ice Cube, who was put off by former Nick show CatDog.

“When we were kids we were watching a popular kids cartoon,” Jackson tweeted. “He came in the room and said that what we were watching was the most disgusting thing he’d ever seen in his life. It was CATDOG. My dad absolutely hates CATDOG.”

Ice Cube shares Jackson and three younger children with his wife of 34 years, Kimberly Woodruff.

Earlier this month, the 35-year-old actor went to social media and defended Ice Cube against criticism about the rapper’s extensive movie history.

“I could just say the Jumpstreet films and end this,” wrote Jackson in reply to someone who questioned why the former N.W.A. member hasn’t starred in a “good movie” since the 1990s. “But All About the Benjamins not good? Fist Fight not good? Lottery Ticket not good? TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES NOT GOOD!?!”

Despite Ice Cube’s disinterest in CatDog, he has a history with Nickelodeon and performed an iconic kid-friendly rendition of “We Be Clubbin’” on All That.
