IShowSpeed might have made a new friend out of his soccer hero, Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Tuesday (December 3), the 19-year-old streamer introduced his new streaming setup, which has a door-sized poster of Ronaldo along with a mural and physical version of his jersey. After showing his new room to viewers, he watched a clip of Mr. Beast competing with the Portuguese soccer player, where he asked if he was a fan of Speed.
"Have you ever seen Speed do a Siu? MrBeast asked Ronaldo in the second clip below, referring to his celebration chant. "Do you think it's good?"
"Yeah, it's good. It's pretty good," the four-time Champions Leagues recipient said. "In the beginning, no. But ... he improved a lot."
MrBeast kept his word on sending the clip to Speed, who watched in shock as Ronaldo praised him.
"What?" he yelled. "Siu! No fucking way! Ronaldo be watching my videos, bruh? Does Ronaldo be watching my videos? Does Ronaldo watch my streams, chat? 'Cause listen, how does he know that? How does he know my Siu got better?"
MrBeast and Speed caught up in a FaceTime chat later, where the YouTuber offered to put Speed and Ronaldo in a WhatsApp group together.
"I can put you in a group chat with him if you want," MrBeast said to Speed's surprise. "I mean, well, as long as you promise not to say anything weird. ... You're not gonna just start barking."
Speed's plea worked and he promised not to leak Ronaldo's number before shrieking when MrBeast hung up. The Cincinnati native then showed his first message to Ronaldo, sharing his hope to "meet again soon."
Speed's been a huge Ronaldo fan since childhood, recently splurging on the athlete's $100,000 custom chain. At ComplexCon 2024, Speed reiterated his admiration, calling Ronaldo superior to Lionel Messi.
The streamer and Ronaldo previously met last year, an encounter Speed reflected on fondly at ComplexCon last month. "I know it might be cliche, but that's just my favorite moment," he told Complex's Speedy Morman. "All the events that led up to that—it was just so organic, so natural. And I worked so much to get to that moment and it happened right there. I was high on life for, maybe, a whole week from that moment."
MrBest has since proposed an opportunity for Speed and Ronaldo to work together, which the soccer star was receptive to in a YouTube video posted in November.
