Millie Bobby Brown, 21, and Jake Bongiovi, 23, are first-time parents one year after getting married.

On Thursday (Aug. 21), the couple surprised their Instagram followers with a statement revealing that over the summer, they adopted a baby girl.

"We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy," the post reads. "And then there were 3."

For months, the Stranger Things star has hinted at wanting to become a mother, most recently during an appearance on podcast SmartLess.

"Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family," the British actress said around the 55-minute mark of the podcast below.

"It's a huge thing," she continued. "Jake was like, 'We cannot do that until we get married.' So that was his thing and my thing was, 'I really want a family. I really want a big family.' I'm one of four [siblings], he's one of four, so it is definitely in our future."

Brown continued, "I don't see having your own child as really any different as in adopting. So I feel like anything's out, 'cause for me, like my home is full of love for anyone and anything."

Brown and Bongiovi, who is the son of Bon Jovi frontman John Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley, married last May during a secret ceremony in Villa Cetinale, Italy. The couple met as friends after following each other on Instagram in the summer of 2021 and went official that fall.
