Michael Madsen, known for roles in movies like Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs, has died. He was 67 years old.
According to TMZ and the Hollywood Reporter, the actor was found unresponsive in his Malibu home on Thursday morning (July 3). 911 and Los Angeles County Sheriff were alerted and while Madsen's cause of death hasn't been declared, it's being treated as natural causes.
"In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film, including upcoming feature films 'Resurrection Road,' 'Concessions' and 'Cookbook for Southern Housewives,' and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life," Madsen's team told TMZ.
The reps, who shared that the late actor planned to release a book titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems, called him "one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, who will be missed by many."
Last September, Madsen filed for divorce from his third wife, DeAnna Morgan, who he married in 1996. The filing came two years after the suicide of their son, Hudson, with Madsen alleging that his wife's "neglect, drinking, and alcoholism" led to their son's death.
One month before filing for divorce, Madsen was arrested in a domestic violence incident involving his estranged wife, although the case was later dropped.
Madsen was known for his roles in other Quentin Tarantino movies like The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, while he also appeared in Donnie Brasco, Thelma & Louise, and more.
