Actor Michael Madsen was arrested over the weekend after a “disagreement” between him and his wife, DeAnna Madsen.
Law enforcement officials responded to a call shortly after midnight on Saturday which led to the 66-year-old actor being arrested for a domestic battery misdemeanor at their Los Angeles-area residence, according to Variety.
Madsen was booked into the Malibu/Lost Hill Sheriff's Station at 1:40 a.m. under Penal Code 243(e)(1) which the magazine says means “force or violence” was allegedly used against a cohabitant.
“It was a disagreement between Michael and his wife, which we hope resolves positively for them both,” said Madsen’s representative in a statement to Variety.
The actor, who has appeared in several Quentin Tarantino films including Reservoir Dogs, both Kill Bill films, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, was released from custody after posting a $20,000 bond.
According to the Guardian, Michael married DeAnna in 1996 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica while he was on a break from filming Donnie Brasco in Miami, Florida.
The couple share sons Calvin and Luke, 27 and 18, respectively. Their son Hudson Lee tragically passed away in Oahu, Hawaii at 26 in a “suspected suicide” in 2022, per People. The actor also fathered two older sons, Christian and Max, whom he shares with ex Jeannine Bisignano.
