The socialite and entrepreneur said Ye's "Eazy" music video, which depicted Davidson being killed, made her "really sad."

Kim Kardashian felt the need to defend her then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, after the artist formerly known as Kanye West's gruesome depiction of the actor-comedian in a 2022 music video.

The SKIMS founder spoke about her ex-husband in the Wednesday (Oct. 15) episode of podcast Call Her Daddy and recounted the concerns she had for Davidson after her split from the rapper-producer.

Kardashian and The Pickup star dated briefly from 2021 to 2022. At one point during their relationship, Ye depicted a beheaded and bludgeoned Davidson in the "Eazy" music video with The Game. Also in the song, Ye threatened to "beat Pete Davidson's ass" but later said the music video is just "art."

Around the 53-minute mark of the episode below, Kardashian shared that there are instances when she'll get "close to someone" but that they show a resistance to "deal" with her ex-husband. Kardashian and Ye were married from 2014 to 2022 and share four children.

"It has been a little frustrating but then I get really—my person wouldn't care about that, you know?" Kardashian said.

The remark caused Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper to mention the "Eazy" video and wonder how Kardashian "handles" similar situations.

"That made me feel really sad. That really wasn't fair for [Davidson]," the socialite and entrepreneur said.

"And I felt so sad and sorry for him and he was such a great man [who] was like, 'I got this, don't worry, it's all good.' Or at least acted that way," she continued. "It just, it must suck to be put in that position. So it's had me put up this guard where I don't want to put anyone in that position.

"So it's easier if I just, maybe stay away," she added. "But I can't live my life like that, either."

Elsewhere in the interview, Kardashian alleged that Ye has been estranged from their children, who haven't heard from their father in "a couple months."

“It’s not easy but, I mean, I raise the kids full-time,” Kardashian told Cooper. “They live with me, and I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad. I think he knows that. I push for it all the time. But I also protect them when it’s time for that and it goes in waves and phases and it’s a lot of work."

The Kardashians star is back on the market after last dating Odell Beckham Jr., while Ye is married to model and architectural designer Bianca Censori.
