Jennifer Lopez has been making the most out of being single.
The actress and singer, who stars in new Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance, revealed on the Wednesday (May 27) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that being divorced is so fulfilling that she would have been single “sooner.” Last year, Lopez finalized her divorce from actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck after 3 years of marriage.
The ex-spouses previously dated in the early 2000s and were engaged after 18 months together before splitting in 2004. The two remain close friends.
Prior to her divorce from Affleck, Lopez was married 3 times; to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998; Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003; and Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. Lopez and Anthony share twin children, 18-year-old Max and Emme Muñiz.
"I should have done it sooner. I've been doing it all wrong,” Lopez jokingly told Kimmel.
When asked if she would be interested in becoming “the next Bachelorette,” referring to the popular dating show, Lopez declined. “Are you crazy? I'm not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now,” she continued. “I'll meet somebody somewhere one day if they’re good enough.”
While Lopez is rumored to be dating her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein, over the last year, the pop artist has frequently shared how happy she is without a partner. On Nightline in March, Lopez explained that she’s “always had boyfriends” since her early 20s.
“There was always someone in my life, and so many things that I felt like were out of my control,” she said. “I’ve gotten to the point where I really trust myself and appreciate myself a little bit more, instead of being so hard on myself and always trying to prove myself.”
