Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are reportedly bringing their production chops to the Muppets universe.
Lawrence was the guest on the new episode of podcast Las Culturistas, where she informed hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers that she and Stone are developing a movie about Muppets character Ms. Piggy. She said comedian and actor Cole Escola is penning the script.
"I don’t know if I can announce this, but I’m just going to," the Die, My Love star said on the podcast, per Deadline. "Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it."
When asked, the Academy Award winner also teased that she and Stone may also appear in the movie. The actresses have not co-starred in a film but are longtime friends and did a W Magazine "Screen Tests" interview together in 2018.
Additional plot details for the Ms. Piggy project have not been revealed, but the iconic character is best known as the funny and charismatic love interest of Kermit the Frog.
Last year, the Jim Henson-created Muppets franchise celebrated its 70th anniversary, and for the 50th anniversary of the original variety show, Disney+ will release a special starring Sabrina Carpenter in 2026.
