Obsession actress Inde Navarrette was congratulated on the film’s success by none other than Big Sean in her most surprising DM, which she detailed in an interview with Complex News’ Jillian Superstar.
One of Naverrette’s earliest big roles was in former CW show Superman & Lois (2021-24), which she starred in as Sarah Cortez. The Better Me Than You artist, when reaching out to the actress about Obsession’s success, showed that he’d been following her since then.
“I'm a huge fan of Big Sean, and I have been since middle school,” the actress said around the 16-minute mark of the video below. “And he sent me a message. And at first I was like, ‘Oh no.’ So I handed the phone to my boyfriend and I was like, ‘Do you want to read this message and let me know if we're cool on this?’”
Naverrette said her boyfriend thought Sean’s DM was “‘the cutest little message.’”
“Big Sean was just like, ‘I was a huge fan of Superman and Lois. Congratulations.’ And I'll never forget at the end he said, ‘Keep up the work, you pure thespian.’”
The actress added that the “down-to-earth” message was among post-Obsession celeb notices she received from J. Balvin, Ethel Cain and more.
“It just made me feel very accepted,” she concluded.
Navarette’s hard work has paid off in the two years since wrapping Superman & Lois. Obsession has become a box-office smash and has grossed over $300 million globally since releasing in May.
