Frankie Muniz still enjoys some quality conversations with his former onscreen dad Bryan Cranston.

The former Malcolm in the Middle star, 38, was a guest on podcast Inside of You this week, and he revealed that Cranston, 68 will routinely "check in" on him.

Around the 1:01:00 mark of the video below, Muniz showed interest in a Malcolm revival and called Cranston, who played Hal on the 2000s sitcom, one of his role models while growing up.

"When I was 11, 12 years old, he really became like a father figure to me and then even still to this day. He's essentially like a Hollywood God at this point," Muniz said before listing off some of Cranston's accolades.

"He still reaches out to me every couple of weeks [to] check in on me," Muniz continued. "He really cares about what I’m doing, comes to the races, if my band was playing, came to shows. I mean, he’s literally such an inspiration, and like I said, that’s what I strive to be for someone else in the future."

Muniz and Cranston have had some public reunions over the years, like at a restaurant where the latter was joined by his Breaking Bad castmate Aaron Paul.

Also on the podcast, Muniz reflected on his mother and sister, who helped him in his early career, even putting their plans on standstill to relocate while he pursued acting. The actor's also said his grandparents were "so willing to help out and do whatever they could do."

"This year, it was the first time I thought about the past enough to think about the sacrifice that people made," he added. "And it made me really sad. Like it made me happy that I had people in my life like that. But it’s just a crazy thought that without that support, probably none of that happens."
