Flavor Flav has recalled the time a Flavor of Love contestant pooped on his staircase — and, as you’d expect, it didn’t smell too good.
The reality television personality and Public Enemy hype man was a guest on the Tuesday (February 3) episode of the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, where he recounted the 2006 gross-out moment.
During the Flavor of Love season two premiere, contestant Tykeisha "Somethin'" Thomas defecated on the staircase, which landed her an early elimination.
Around the 20-minute mark in the clip below, Flav recalled that he "still kept that girl around" for a few more episodes despite the smelly incident. "Sometimes you can't you can't condemn a person for their mistake," he said. "It's always good to get an understanding of why that person made that mistake."
The television personality explained that the contestants had eaten shortly before the elimination ceremony, which left Somethin' not a lot of time to go to the restroom. "The producers would not let these girls move. They were like, 'Flav's coming. Flavor's coming. Flavor's coming.' And the producers just had them standing on that platform for about two and a half close to three hours," he explained.
Flav added that he "had to create feelings" among the women who were waiting on him for hours and saw Somethin' "duck down in the crowd."
"I seen her after the ceremony. I seen her rush upstairs. She dashed upstairs," he said. "So here I am now. 'Yo, I smell something.' I look on the on the floor. I'm like, 'Yo, who snuck a dog in my crib?'"
But the cast informed Flav that the woman had the accident and "couldn’t hold it" anymore. "A big lump of shit dropped out her butt, hit the floor," he said. "So, I run upstairs and I knock on the bathroom door. When that door opened, oh my god, the smell that came through the crack of that door. It smelled like a wild-ass gorilla was running loose in there."
Flav also theorized that because Somethin' was wearing a thong, her excrement falling on the floor was inevitable.
The scene was so memorable that Flav was also asked about it in an interview with Us Weekly last year. Thomas would be eliminated by episode three of the second season.
"Sometimes people make mistakes and they want to be forgiven for it. Who am I not to forgive? And not only that but yeah, that was a great episode. It was crazy," Flav said.
