For Emma Stone, apparently the show can't go on when she has the hiccups.

The actor, who stars in Eddington, the new Ari Aster-directed film, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday (June 26) and spoke to guest host Diego Luna about her biggest acting phobia.

It was around the two-minute mark in the video below when Luna asked the two-time Oscar winner about "something that scares" her before live performances.

"There's one thing that I've always had in my head that I think is going to happen on live television which probably will end up happening now because I'm speaking about it, but I always am afraid I'm going to get the hiccups," Stone explained.

The La La Land star anticipates the moment happening when she does a "serious" or "intense" scene where she "can't have the hiccups" or "laugh it off."

"I'm always afraid I'm about to get the hiccups because once I get the hiccups it goes on for hours," she continued.

Stone added that hiccups are "horrible" and called them her "least favorite thing" before she and Luna knocked on wood. "I mean, there are worse things than this, but not to me," the actor joked.

While Stone has avoided an embarrassing case of hiccups onstage, one of her most awkward moments came during the 2017 Golden Globes. Stone tried to hug La La Land director Damien Chazelle before he accepted the win for Best Screenplay, but he was more focused on embracing his now-wife, Olivia Hamilton. Ironically, the moment included Luna, who co-presented the award.
