The ex-girlfriend of Djimon Hounsou has filed an order of protection against the actor one week after she was arrested for assault.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ri'za Marie Simpson, who the Amistad star shares a child with, requested the protection order, claiming that she's a victim of financial abuse and illegal eviction from Hounsou's Atlanta residence. She also said she was wrongfully arrested.

Simpson also alleged that during the domestic incident in December 2025, Hounsou slammed a vehicle door, screamed in Simpson's face and repeatedly called her out of her name. The woman also alleged that there was a separate incident in October 2025, claiming that Hounsou got in her face in front of children during a heated confrontation.

The protection order has been granted, with the actor being ordered to stay 200 yards away from Simpson and her children. A hearing between the ex-couple will be held in early February.

Audio recorded during the December 2025 altercation shows Simpson demanding keys to access Hounsou's residence and informing him that she'll contact authorities if denied. In the actor's recollection of the incident, Simpson allegedly struck him in the face with an open hand and was taken into custody on January 16 for simple assault and obstruction of justice after a warrant was issued.

Additionally, the woman was accused of having produced false information to police and taken into custody on January 20.

Kimora Lee Simmons also shares a child with Hounsou, sixteen-year-old Kenzo. Last December, the model and fashion designer told People that she considers herself a single mother to five children and "doesn't have a relationship" with any of their fathers.

"Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time," Simmons told the publication. "I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird."
