Ben Stiller gave nods to Severance fan SZA and good friend Adam Sandler during his appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this week.
The actor-comedian was on the talk show to promote his new film Nutcrackers when Fallon brought up his X interaction with SZA in May. At the time, the four-time Grammy winner demanded a new season of Severance "right the fuck" now before apologizing when Stiller confirmed that season two was on the way.
Around the 3-minute mark of the video below, Stiller laughed at Fallon having the conversation on a card. "Whatever SZA wants, SZA gets," Stiller said before sharing more about the show's second season, set to premiere on Jan. 17, 2025.
Stiller also revealed that he'll be launching The Severance Podcast with Ben Stiller and Adam Scott, which the R&B-pop singer could be a fan of.
Around the 5:30 mark of the episode, Fallon brought up that the Zoolander star and Sandler often being mistaken for each other, which Stiller attested to.
"We’ve been buddies for, I don’t know, 30 years or something now," he said. "People always will yell out to me or to him, and he’ll text me and he’ll say, like, 'I was in Italy and someone said, 'Ben Stiller, I love you!' Or someone will say, like, 'Oh man, Click changed my life’ to me.'
"And then I’ll say, 'No, I’m not Adam Sandler. I’m Ben Stiller.' And then they say, 'Who?'"
Stiller and Sandler shared the screen several times before, notably in 1996 sports comedy Happy Gilmore and starring as brothers in 2017 comedy-drama The Meyerowitz Stories.
