Ayo Edebiri has hailed three pop culture icons as being a part of her "holy trinity of white women."
Tthe Emmy winner, who stars in crime-drama After the Hunt alongside Julia Roberts, stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday (October 2) and began her interview by praising her co-star despite the film's challenging storyline.
"Julia's just so amazing, though. And so generous, like, with her energy," Edebiri said around the eight-minute mark of the video below. "And I feel like you're on that set and you're like, 'Oh, Julia's, like, in it in it.' Like, I don't know, it creates this atmosphere where you're like, 'Yeah, then I got to go there and we all kind of go there together.'"
But Edebiri joked her parents were the "proudest they've ever been" for her "knowing" Roberts. Meyers then showed a picture of her father hugging Roberts while her mother looked on and smiled. "I kind of look at that picture and I'm like, 'Stand up, girl.' Like, 'Stand up. You are married to this man,'" Edebiri said, calling the group "three people who are deeply in love."
The Bear star also acknowledged that she and her "household" have long been a fan of Roberts, which she said is the same for many Caribbean people. "I truly believe, especially for, like, Caribbean women, there's, like, three white women that are, like, the holy trinity of white women. And it's Princess Diana, Celine Dion and Julia Roberts."
"What a great piece of information to have," Meyers said. "If I'm ever in trouble,
I feel like I'm gonna pull that out."
"It'll help," Edebiri said. "It might save your life."
In January, Edebiri paid homage to Roberts by wearing an oversized Loewe-designed gray suit and tie at the 2025 Golden Globes and tasseled red hair, similar to Roberts' 1990 Armani Golden Globes look.
