Julia Roberts doesn’t post her kids often, so when she does, it’s kind of a big deal.
On Wednesday, June 18, the 57-year-old Pretty Woman star took to Instagram to celebrate her youngest son Henry’s 18th trip around the sun with a rare photo pulled from the family vault. In the picture, a much-younger Henry looks straight into the camera, wearing a green hoodie with the hood up.
“In the blink of a joyful eye this beacon of a boy is ⚡️18⚡️ I love you Henry. #goldenboy #goldenbirthday,” Roberts captioned the post.
Spotted in the comments? A-list love. Jennifer Aniston wrote, “Happy Birthday sweet Henry! ❤️🥳,” while Rita Wilson added, “Henry!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!! 🎈🎉🎁🎊🎂.”
Roberts shares Henry and 20-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus with husband Danny Moder, a cinematographer she’s been married to since 2002. Though the couple mostly keeps their family out of the spotlight, the Oscar winner occasionally shares glimpses on birthdays and holidays, often opting for older photos to keep things private.
When the twins turned 19 in 2023, Roberts marked the moment with a baby photo and later explained that throwbacks let her celebrate her kids publicly without putting their present-day privacy on the line. “[It] allows me to share something as a proud parent… without infringing,” she told Extra at the time.
And while the twins are now off at college, Roberts said Henry’s holding it down solo at home. During an appearance on The Tonight Show in December 2024, host Jimmy Fallon asked the Notting Hill actress if her son was enjoying the space. “I think it's a good 50/50 split,” she said. “He's loving it, and I think he misses his people.”
As her kids grow up, Roberts has reflected on how her early career success gave her the flexibility to be present for these kinds of milestones. “It was easy to pause work life to nurture my home life,” she told British Vogue in January 2024, calling that balance a “luxury.”
