Taylor Momsen, the frontwoman for the rock band The Pretty Reckless, has been touring with AC/DC on their Power Up Tour. However, there was an incident during their time in Mexico City that sent her to the hospital.
“So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit,” Momsen posted on Instagram after the incident, referring to two years ago when she was bitten by a bat while performing on stage and needed two weeks of rabies shots. That incident also took place during an AC/DC tour.
Momsen went on to explain, “This time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl?”
In the attached video, she added, “When do my superpowers kick in? That’s what I want to know.”
Momsen posted an update about the bite on April 14, showing a large rash spreading up her leg. “Hospital today, show tomorrow, poisonous spiders are NO BUENO but the show must go on, see you tomorrow Mexico City!” she said.
However, on April 15, she gave another update, posting a video of herself being wheeled through a hospital hallway in a bed. “Or I just spend the night in the hospital…thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know.”
Momsen is known for her role as Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl. She also played Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. Her band, The Pretty Reckless, formed in 2009, while Gossip Girl was still airing. Multiple singles released by the band have topped the US and UK rock charts.
