During the April 27 episode of The Nikki and Brie Show podcast with Brie Garcia and Nikki Garcia, Nikki revealed that she skipped her audition for the Baywatch reboot.
“I had an audition for Baywatch,” she admitted. “I ended up not doing it. Because I knew that I would not be comfortable wearing—if I was to get it—I would not be comfortable wearing a red swimsuit 24/7.”
She continued, “I am not confident yet in a swimsuit, so I didn’t do it. What I’ve learned is I have to put myself in positions of, like, where I feel most confident. When I’m walking down that ramp and I’m in my Nikki Bella gear, I am so confident.”
Nikki has been open about her body image struggles in the past. In a 2025 episode of The Nikki and Brie Show, she said, “I body shame myself about my stomach and all the moms are with me on this as well as you. It’s hard because I’m trying to fix parts that I don’t know will ever be fixed by exercise. They might, hopefully. I’m trying hard to get there, but it is just hard seeing yourself on TV after having a child.”
She continued, “But I’m allowed to feel that about myself if I want. … I still feel really great about myself, which is good. You know, want to fix the under eyes a little bit, but that’ll be for another conversation.”
“But it’s fine,” the WWE star concluded. “Look, I have a healthy, amazing little boy and that is all what matters.”
The Baywatch reboot, which is in development at Fox, will star Noah Beck, Brooks Nader, and Livvy Dunne. It is scheduled to premiere during the 2026-2027 television season, and will reimagine the original lifeguard drama from the ‘90s.
