According to TMZ, Lindsay Lohan’s stepmom, Kate Lohan, has been arrested in the state of Texas after allegedly assaulting Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s father. According to the court documents obtained by the outlet, Kate has been “accused of intentionally and recklessly causing bodily injury to Michael on April 14.”
Kate was inside her home when the incident took place. The records also noted that she was intoxicated at the time. In order to be released, the judge ordered her to undergo alcohol testing and avoid further contact with Michael. Her bail hearing is scheduled for Tuesday night, with bail set at $35,000.
Kate and Michael share two sons. According to the report, the incident allegedly occurred when they were going to exchange their children and Kate got irritated. The police escorted her away in handcuffs, per TMZ.
The pair, who got engaged in 2010 and married in 2014, officially separated in 2015. They have had multiple legal issues since then. Both of them have been arrested at different points in time.
“In April 2025, Michael was sentenced to nine months behind bars for violating his parole by allegedly assaulting Kate,” Us Weekly reported. “He received the prison sentence due to an alleged parole violation stemming from when he pleaded guilty to five counts of patient brokering in Florida in 2022 after referring people to a rehab facility.”
When he was released in October, he told TMZ, “I’m thankful for my early release and being reunited with my boys. This should have never happened. It was wrong! As usual, there’s a lot more to the story than what’s been reported. I’m just happy to be free and I’m sorry for the negative press it has caused my family.”
This is not Kate’s first time under arrest, either. She was convicted of assaulting a family member in 2024, according to reports.
