Kate Cassidy dated One Direction singer, Liam Payne, for about two years before his death in October 2024.
Now, a year and a half after he passed, she has posted a video to her TikTok revealing that she is ready to start dating again.
"I think that love after loss is a big chapter within your grief journey and I don't know how that's gonna feel," she said in the April 24 video. "But what I do know is that I loved being in love. I want to have kids one day. I want to have a family, and I know Liam would want that for me, and if the roles were reversed I would want him to be happy and fall in love again."
She went on to state that she will always love him, no matter who she meets in the future. "I am probably going to—not even probably, I'm going to think about Liam on my wedding day,” she said. “I'm going to think about him every day for the rest of my life, and that goes without saying."
She continued, “I wanted to make this video because I wanted to express how important it is to really remind your loved ones how much you love them. I know I say it, but you never know what tomorrow brings.”
The video has over 300k likes with many fans wishing her well. One said, “You are so strong, Kate. You deserve to experience love again. Your vulnerability is so inspiring and I’m sure is helping so many people who are also navigating love after loss.”
Others pointed out one of the necklaces she was wearing, which was shaped like an L. “The L necklace has me in tears,” one commenter said. “You have all of Liam’s true fans’ support.”
