Dropout recently launched a Kickstarter for a new board game inspired by Game Changer, their popular game show hosted by Sam Reich. As their Kickstarter page says, “The only rule… is that the rules keep changing. You’ve watched long enough. Now it’s your turn to play.”
The board game, which is meant for 4-8 players who are ages 14 and older, will contain variations of three games from the show: Bingo, Name a Number, and Sam Says. There are explanations of each game available on their official Kickstarter page. There are also optional add-ons that you can purchase, like a custom coin, a deluxe sand timer, expansion decks, and a cheater’s bell.
The goal for the Kickstarter was originally $40,000 but it has already raised more than $1 million dollars. If you’re interested in supporting the game and getting to play yourself, the FAQ reveals this might be your only chance.
“We won’t definitively know when (or if) the game will be available for sale in the Dropout store until after the campaign,” it states. “Additionally, a number of the game editions are exclusive to this Kickstarter campaign, so if you want to be sure you’ll get the games available in our Kickstarter, now is the only time we can guarantee they’ll be offered.”
The team has also posted about the new board game on the Game Changer Show Instagram. “Get ready for a Game Changer: Home Edition,” the post said. “LIVE NOW on Kickstarter until June 5! From the team behind Game Changer comes a chaotic, fast-paced party game where you never know what’ll happen next.” Reich commented on the post, saying, “3 games in the box, 2 years in the making, and 1 what’s sure to be bonkers as heck campaign.”
Game Changer is streaming on Dropout now with select episodes and clips available to watch on YouTube.
