Rachel Zoe of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is finally opening up about what exactly led her to the decision to divorce her husband of 26 years, Rodger Berman.
Zoe met Berman while attending George Washington University, and the pair married in February of 1998. They were together a total of 33 years before finally calling it quits.
Many fans have been curious as to what exactly the final straw was when it came to making this decision. On Thursday night’s episode of RHOBH, Zoe finally revealed some of the answers that fans been longing for.
During an interview on the show, Zoe revealed that she had officially filed for divorce that same morning.
“Just [a] typical day,” she joked, sarcastically.
It was not “not one thing” specifically that led Zoe to push forward with the divorce filing, but rather “an absolute myriad of bad decisions that have been made over the last month, the last weeks, the last f–king hour that would trigger me to move things forward,” she said.
Zoe has two children with Berman, including 14-year-old Skyler and 12-year-old Kaius. According to her, it was an incident involving the kids that played a major role in her decision to divorce her estranged husband.
In a clip that was not aired on television, Zoe told fellow Housewife Erika Jayne that Berman had introduced his new girlfriend to the boys without warning Zoe ahead of time.
“So you know that my ex has this girlfriend, right? She’s never met the kids. My kids are leaving, about to get on a plane to camp. Literally, she f-king appears,” she said
“She’s there with him and shows up and says hi to my sons. What the f–k,” Zoe went on.
In a previous episode, Zoe admitted that there were “a lot of reasons [their] relationship was strained,” and that, in retrospect, working with Berman was not a healthy decision for their marriage.
“Lines got crossed. The person that I was with my whole adult life, in many ways, was unrecognizable,” she said. “Ultimately, that person didn’t feel right around me or around my kids.”
