Colton Underwood is opening up about how he really feels about his experience on the hit Peacock show The Traitors. His comments come after he was involved in some heated online controversy.

In a recent interview, the former Bachelor began by discussing how he stepped out of his comfort zone when it came to his fashion choices on the show. He ditched the suits and athletic clothing he had frequently been seen wearing in the past and instead opted for something new.

"I stand by every single look that I wore on The Traitors. I wanted to lean fully into the theatrics, the campiness of what Traitors is. I was not trying to be like Alan; I couldn't come close to Alan [Cumming] if I tried. But I wanted to do something different for me,” he said.

As for the experience itself, Underwood had nothing but positive things to say.

"This entire experience, I had so much fun with my castmates," he shared. "I had so much fun playing the game."

He acknowledged that appearing on the show is unlike anything he’s done before.

"If you would have asked me eight years ago when I first got into television if I would be in a castle in Scotland playing pretend mafia with Alan Cumming, dressing in incredible cardigans and fun jewels, I would have told you you're full of crap. It was a pinch-me moment. This is so much fun,” he went on.

Despite having an overall positive view of the experience, Underwood found himself at the center of some online backlash after the latest episode.

He and former Real Housewives star Lisa Rinna had a war of words at the round table after he accused her of being a traitor. She later called him a “stalker” on social media.

Her comment was in reference to an incident involving Underwood’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Randolph, who previously filed a restraining order against him and accused him of stalking and harassment.

It was because of this same incident that many fans of the show have expressed their disapproval of Underwood being cast on The Traitors in the first place.

The show issued a public statement condemning cyber-bullying and ensuring that the safety of contestants was the network’s utmost priority.

Many fans turned to the comment section to discuss the controversy.

“Maybe you shouldn’t cast people who have/continue to make other people feel unsafe through their words and/or actions,” one person wrote.

“Don’t blame us because y’all fumbled casting with a stalker. Maybe do your research next time!” said another.
