Kris Jenner is the famous matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family. She’s also played an important role in each of her famous children’s careers. Much of the family’s private lives, including both the ups and the downs, have been shared with the public since the beginning of the reality show back in October 2007. Keeping up with the Kardashians became widely successful, with many tuning in to get a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of one of the most iconic celebrity families.
The show has been on television for nearly two decades, and now Kris is opening up about whether or not she has any regrets regarding her decision to share her family’s lives through the series.
In an interview with Vogue Arabica, the momager recalled her mindset when the show first started back in 2007. At the time, her children were not nearly as well-known as they are now.
Kourtney was 28, Kim was 27, Khloé was 23, Rob was 20, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner were only 10 and 9 years old.
“To be perfectly honest, I never thought the exposure would be harmful," she admitted. "I just thought this was going to be a great journey."
"I was very optimistic, and I’m also a girl who looks at the glass as half full," she went on.
Part of Kris’s decision to do the show was a business move. The family had been running a boutique called Dash at the time.
"We were working in our stores in Calabasas, and I thought this would be a great way to give exposure to our business, as it was like an instant focus group. This was an immediate marketing tool and something that could come in handy for other things,” Kris explained.
Considering the massive success that the Kardashian-Jenner children would end up experiencing, it’s safe to say that the matriarch’s plan worked out accordingly.
