Colton Underwood is breaking his silence regarding the rumored drama during his season of The Traitors.
Rumors claimed that Underwood became angry during the reunion episode of the show and “stormed off” the set. Now, in an episode of Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey, the former Bachelor star is setting the record straight.
Underwood denies rumors that he ever stormed off.
“I mean, I don’t always have time to go back and forth and say, ‘This is true, this is not true,’ but I did not storm off of the set," he told Jowsey.
Underwood clarified that there were pre-planned breaks throughout the show and that he would leave during those points.
"When they bring new people out and position them, you have 10 minutes of downtime," he explained. "So everybody stayed in their seat, and I just went out, and my team was there, so I talked to them and had water."
Underwood emphasized that he cannot continually devote the time and mental energy to refute every false claim made about him online.
"At this point of my career, I don’t have time to go online and combat every negative or just, quite frankly, lie that’s out there about me. It’s just also not good for my mental health, either,” he said.
Underwood’s time on The Traitors was not without drama, however.
Many fans did not believe he should have been cast on the show, considering his past legal woes. Following the breakdown of his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Randolph, Randolph accused him of stalking and harassment. She also filed a restraining order against him. If that were not enough, there were also reports that Underwood had placed a tracking device in Randolph’s vehicle.
In 2021, after publicly coming out as gay, Underwood addressed his controversial past, noting that he was "sorry for any pain and emotional stress” he had caused.
However, the drama was later revisited during The Traitors, when co-star Lisa Rinna called him a “stalker” on social media.
