Roughly 4,000 ridiculous tweets ago, Donald Trump promised to announce the "Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards" on January 8, a move far better suited to his skill set than actually being president.
Now, Trump has said that due to the "interest in, and importance of" the awards being "far greater than anyone could have anticipated," he is pushing back the awards to January 17.
Several prominent media entities, including Trevor Noah's The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert's The Late Show, have actively campaigned for the awards. The Daily Show took out a print ad in the New York Times, while Colbert posted a "For Your Consideration" promo on social media.
Trump's proposed award show has been met with the same collective eye-roll as so much of his social media presence. Details are still unknown, but we're sure the "very stable genius" has something special in the works.
