Colbert Actively Campaigning to Win Some of Trump's 'Dishonest and Corrupt Media Awards'

Stephen Colbert took out a billboard in Times Square, he's so serious.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to share the news that he'd be announcing "THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR" on January 8. This came just moments after he threatened the use of Nuclear weapons against North Korea while insinuating something about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's private parts, because of course it did. Apparently Trump's nuke launch button is bigger, whatever that means (gross).

Understandably, this sent Twitter into a frenzy, highlighting the insane juxtaposition between the tweets about his alleged "CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS" and the very real threat of nuclear warfare. Nukes are one thing, but the anticipation as America waits for the results of the inaugural "CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS" is almost too much to take, and The Late Show's Stephen Colbert is at the very least hoping he doesn't get snubbed.

That's why he's submitted a "For Your Consideration" billboard in Times Square, and he's even got a number of category suggestions for the awards. "Outstanding Achievement in Parroting George Soros' Talking Points," "Least Brietbarty," "Smallest Button," "Fakest Dishonesty," and "Best Sound Mixing" are among his many suggestions. "Personally I'm excited for the most dishonest and corrupt media awards of the year," Colbert joked. "Nothing gives you more credibility than Donald Trump calling you a liar.

In the hopes that Trump will pay close attention, Colbert even included a quote from Sean Hannity of Fox News. "A horrible human being," it reads, next to a quote from the prestigious comedy critic Trump himself. "You see a no-talent guy like Colbert. There's nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching."
