Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles home, TMZ reports.
Sources told the outlet that the couple were found with stab wounds. The city's Robbery Homicide Division is investigating.
People magazine is reporting that Reiner and his wife were killed by their son, Nick Reiner.
Reiner first gained fame as Michael Stivic on the iconic sitcom All in The Family, and then found a second act as one of the great directors of the last 40 years. Reiner directed classics like This is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, Misery, A Few Good Men, and When Harry Met Sally.
He most recently appeared in shows like New Girl and The Bear, and in the film The Wolf of Wall Street.
Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, had three children together.
