Police in Brentwood, Tennessee, confirmed they are investigating a physical altercation involving Reacher star Alan Ritchson. No arrests have been made.
Officers responded shortly before 2 p.m. after multiple 911 calls, according to Brentwood Police Department Capt. Steven Pepin, who spoke with USA TODAY on Tuesday, March 24. The incident occurred in Brentwood, an upscale city in Williamson County south of Nashville.
Video of the confrontation circulated widely online, appearing to show Ritchson striking his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor, multiple times near a grassy area by the sidewalk. Witnesses told TMZ that Taylor ran into the street in an attempt to stop Ritchson, who was riding ahead of his two children on mini bikes. The encounter reportedly caused Ritchson to crash, leaving him with cuts, bruises, and a minor finger injury.
According to those accounts, Taylor then pushed Ritchson to the ground as the actor attempted to get back on his bike and leave, leading to the physical altercation captured on video.
Taylor offered his version of events during an appearance on “TMZ Live” on Monday, saying he confronted Ritchson over concerns about speeding in the neighborhood. He said he stepped out from his driveway, where he had been washing his motorcycle, to tell the rider to slow down, adding that he was unaware Ritchson was a public figure. In one video shared on X, Ritchson can be heard saying, “Are you kidding me, dude?” following the crash.
Ritchson has not publicly addressed the incident. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
