The alleged details leading up to the arrests of Zachery Ty Bryan and his girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, have surfaced.

TMZ reports that on Saturday, the Home Improvement actor got out of his pickup truck and was walking on a road when Cartwright attempted to run him over. The vehicle apparently careened into a ditch instead, with their three small children still inside. Bryan didn’t get hurt, and neither did the children.

Local police were called for reckless endangering and arrived at the camping area outside Lowell, Oregon, where they discovered Bryan in the truck with Cartwright and the kids. When deputies interviewed the couple, they “spotted signs of impairment,” per the outlet. Police then discovered that Bryan couldn’t be near Cartwright due to a court order issued in a separate case.

On Sunday, Bryan made headlines when he was arrested for violating the terms of his probation in connection with his previous domestic violence conviction. He will remain in jail until Dec. 3.

Cartwright was also arrested and is facing five charges, including driving under the influence, three counts of reckless endangerment, and attempted first-degree assault. She’s still expected to be arraigned on Monday.

Bryan’s three-year probation term stems from a drunken dispute involving Cartwright from 2020; his probation doesn’t expire until October 2026. Since then, he’s been arrested in Oklahoma for a DUI and in South Carolina for allegedly assaulting and strangling Cartwright.
