TikTok star Girlalala is dead after being fatally shot. She was only 21 years old.
TMZ reports, and online government records confirm, that Shanoyd Whyte Jr. — who told authorities that he and Girlalala had been in a relationship for several years — has been arrested in connection with her murder.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on Friday night in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Deputies arrived on the scene to find Girlalala sitting in the front passenger seat of a car with gunshot wounds. She was later taken to a hospital, where she died.
According to investigators, Girlalala was shot after an argument with Whyte turned physical. He was arrested on Saturday (Nov. 15) at the scene, where a firearm was also recovered. He’s currently being held at Broward County's Main Jail on a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm.
Girlalala was cherished in South Florida’s trans community. She was a huge fan of JT’s music, with Girlalala’s TikTok videos often seeing her rapping along to JT’s songs.
In 2024, the influencer posted a video of herself with JT.
“With my motherfucking sister in this bitch,” Girlalala says in the clip, adding, “I love you,” to which JT responds, “I love you more.”
Girlalala and JT were so close that the Miami rapper reportedly donated $5,000 to a GoFundMe for Girlalala’s funeral expenses. As of this writing, the campaign has raised over $28,000.
