Taraji P. Henson traveled to Bali to visit Russell Simmons’ Gdas Bali Health and Wellness Resort.
Simmons thanked the actress for her visit on Instagram, posting a photo of them together on a couch.
“People when u have friends like this, you are truly blessed!!!!” the former music exec wrote. “Everyone comes to Gdas for healing, some people exude healing energy. You are one of those,” he said to Taraji. “You make everyone happy just with your presence, love you, baby girl, you are back home safe now. And already you are missed. Until we meet again darling only love. PS you mean so much to so many people, keep inspiring us all!!!”
Some people criticized Henson for visiting Simmons, who has been accused of sexual assault. "I know she didn’t," one person wrote in the post's comments section.
The meetup between the two comes months after Simmons was accused of sexual assault in a new lawsuit filed in February. A former Def Jam music executive and video producer accused the 66-year-old of raping her at his apartment in the 1990s, which led to the woman experiencing panic attacks, depression, and anxiety in the workplace.
Simmons moved to Bali in 2018 following multiple rape, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct allegations. However, he has fiercely denied the allegations and swears his relocation doesn’t mean he’s avoiding legal action.
"People saying that I somehow can’t come home when I’m there all the time wears on you,” Simmons told AllHipHop in May. "It wears on me after a while to keep hearing the same narrative, which is false. I’m always in L.A., I’m always in New York and Miami. And I’ve never had any reason to feel unsafe in America."
Usher also recently visited Simmons’ health and wellness resort in March when the singer was in Thailand for his honeymoon with his new wife, Jennifer Goicoechea.
