Raven-Symoné's wife, Miranda Maday, has shared a personal beauty detail about the actor that apparently might get her "Black card pulled."
According to Maday, Raven doesn’t use lotion. Maday made the revelation during the latest episode of Nick Cannon’s We Playin’ Spades podcast.
"You know what else would get your Black card pulled?" Maday asked around the 13:15-minute mark in the video below. "You don’t moisturize."
"You don’t lotion!" Cannon exclaimed, prompting Maday to respond: "She lets herself stay ashy."
When Cannon deemed that to be "some light skin shit," his co-host, Courtney Bee, explained that ash doesn’t "come up the same on light skin."
"Sometimes I be ashy," Raven replied, adding that she gets "tired" of “lathering" her whole body in lotion. That’s when Cannon offered up a simple solution.
"Right when you get out the shower, just have the lotion right there and make that a part of the process before you put your draws on," he said. Maday said that makes for "better hydration."
"If you're a little damp, when you put your lotion on, you lock in the moisture. You're more hydrated. That's exactly what I do," Maday explained.
Raven and Maday are committed to being as transparent as possible with the public about their relationship. Last month, news surfaced that the married couple had a short-lived breakup due to Raven’s concerns about Maday’s race.
"One of the reasons that she broke up with me was because she wasn't ready to be with a white person," Maday said on the Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris podcast. "And I did not know that she was struggling with any of those feelings while we were dating, which made me sad when I found out because I felt like...there's nothing I can do about it."
"There's nothing I can do about my whiteness, but I could have just been more aware of what my partner was going through and maybe supported her better through that in some way."
