Although Get Out was snubbed at this year’s Golden Globes, Jordan Peele says he’d rather write and direct, and prefers to leave acting in the past, Entertainment Weekly reports.

“That’s the idea. Daniel Day-Lewis and I are both out,” Peele told correspondent Tracy Smith on CBS Sunday Morning. “Acting is just nowhere near as fun for me as directing.” This past summer, Lewis confirmed that his role in the movie Phantom Thread would be his final.

Peele is largely known for starring in the Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele, alongside Keegan-Michael Key. The two have acted together often, playing side-by-side roles in the first season of the FX show Fargo, as well as in the comedy Keanu. Peele is currently the voice of Duke Ellington’s ghost on the Netflix animated show Big Mouth.

Get Out was nominated for two Golden Globes this year: Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy, and Best Actor—Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, for Daniel Kaluuya’s part, but didn't receive awards for either. Though Peele firmly considered the movie to be a documentary, his studio submitted it as a comedy.

Oscar nominations will take place on Jan. 23, where Get Out is predicted to earn multiple noms, though some aren’t so sure. Peele’s interview with CBS Sunday Morning will be released on Jan. 21.
