Jessica Simpson is newly single.
TMZ caught up with the singer and fashion designer, who was asked if sliding in her DMs is a bad way to get in touch with her.
“No,” she responded, adding “Sure” when asked if her DMs are open.
The reporter said that might mean “hope for a lot of regular guys” who think they have a shot with Simpson. However, it seems like she has one rule: “if you're verified, maybe,” she replied.
Last year, Simpson and her second husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson, separated after 11 years of marriage. During that time, the pair welcomed three kids: 14-year-old daughter Maxwell Drew, 12-year-old son Ace Knute, and 7-year-old Birdie Mae.
Prior to Johnson, Simpson was married to 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006. The exes don’t have any children together.
Simpson returned to music around the same time her separation from Johnson became public. In February 2025, she dropped the single, “Use My Heart Against Me,” followed by her EP Nashville Canyon, Part 1 in March. Nashville Canyon, Part 2 arrived last September.
Prior to that, in 2020, she released her memoir, Open Book, which topped The New York Times Best Seller list. The offering detailed her marriage to Lachey, her relationship with John Mayer, the sexual abuse she endured as a child, her substance abuse issues, and her body dysmorphia. The audio version was also accompanied by six new songs.
