Halle Berry endured an interesting transformation for her latest role in Never Let Go.
The 58-year-old actress took to Instagram on Saturday to show off faux armpit hair and tattoos that were required for her Momma character in the horror-thriller film.
“Momma in the making,” she wrote. “One of the most complex characters I’ve had the pleasure of embodying. #NeverLetGo is in theaters everywhere!”
The first clip in the series shows her and makeup artist Norma Patton-Lowin laughing about Berry’s adjustments for the role, including fake eyebrow hair. Other images in the carousel include mirror selfies of Berry, a couple of photos of her in blonde hair and a denim top, and a behind-the-scenes clip of the Never Let Go crew clapping on set.
In the new Alexandre Aja-directed film, Halle plays a mother of twin sons (Anthony B. Jenkins and Percy Daggs IV) whose "only protection" is "their house and their family’s protective bond,” according to the film's website.
"Needing to stay connected at all times—even tethering themselves with ropes—they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival," the synopsis adds.
Never Let Go is currently in theaters.
