Halle Berry was baffled when she came across a deepfake photo of herself posing with Denzel Washington and Michael B. Jordan.

The AI-generated image, which started making the rounds online on Wednesday, shows the three actors flashing stacks of cash. Denzel and Berry are outfitted in sweat sets, while MBJ wears a Gucci T-shirt and jeans.

Berry responded simply with a question mark.

The images appeared to be screenshots from an Instagram account called @ai__wizz and were soundtracked by Pooh Shiesty’s 2019 song “Shiesty Summer.”

While it was fairly easy in this case to detect that the pictures were deepfakes, sometimes it can be difficult to spot the difference. In January, an AI-generated deepfake of the Stranger Things cast went viral.

In the clip, a man was seen swapping faces with several cast members of the hit Netflix series. With each character change, the creator of the video made hyper-realistic versions of actors like Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp mimic facial expressions, movements, and other hand gestures.

Over the last couple of months, videos of anthropomorphic fruit cheating on their respective spouses have taken the internet by storm. The trend has inspired even more accounts to create similar content, which often tell stories about betrayal with awkward AI-produced voiceovers.
