Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet are hot and heavy in their upcoming A24 film, Marty Supreme.
In a new cover story for Vanity Fair, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that she and her co-star, “Have a lot of sex in this movie,” adding, “There’s a lot—a lot.”
When asked whether she found herself in "a lot of vulnerable positions" with Chalamet, Paltrow responded, “Beyond.”
“He’s a thinking man’s sex symbol,” she said, describing Chalamet. “He’s just a very polite, properly raised, I was going to say, kid… He’s a man who takes his work really seriously and is a fun partner.”
Marty Supreme marks Paltrow’s return to the big screen. The last fictionalized movie she appeared in was 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, in which she reprised her role as Pepper Potts. She then announced that she was stepping back from acting to focus on her family and her business, Goop.
“I didn’t even contemplate doing anything that would take me away from my kids,” she told Vanity Fair, of her decision to retire from Hollywood.
Helmed by Josh Safdie, Marty Supreme is a fictionalized sports drama set in the 1950s, and loosely inspired by professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman, played by Chalamet. Paltrow’s character "is married to someone who is in the Ping-Pong mafia, as it were," she explained to Vanity Fair, who meets and becomes romantically entangled with Marty.
"She’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both," she added. Photos of the pair making out on set made the rounds online last October, causing quite a stir.
The film also stars Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A'zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O'Leary, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
Marty Supreme is set to release on Dec. 25.
