Ernie Hudson Says ‘There Was Some Weird Stuff’ at Drug-Fueled Hollywood Parties

Ernie Hudson has always been a straight-laced guy.

Although the 78-year-old has been acting for over five decades, he was never one to partake in Hollywood’s wild parties and the drugs that came along with them. He recently sat down with the Smitty and Dee podcast where he was asked if he attended those parties.

“I think people know who to invite," Hudson replied.

“When I first came out to Hollywood, I was doing some of those Blaxploitation movies," the actor explained. "And it was some pretty wild parties, but I would be at a party and I had friends who would come up to me and say, ‘Ernie, you might want to leave now,’ and I go, ‘Really?’ But they said, ‘No, you might want to leave,’ and I would always leave. And then I find out later there was some weird stuff going on.”

“So I always had people who kind of looked out for me, especially back in the day,” he added.

The topic originally came up when host Dee mentioned Diddy and asked Hudson if he thought the disgraced music executive’s purported drug-fueled parties were true. In recent months, Diddy has been the subject of several civil lawsuits brought on by his alleged victims, as well as a federal case. In September, the 55-year-old was taken into federal custody in New York, where he has been awaiting trial on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Sean Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
