Bruno Mars is taking his talents to Hollywood.

The singer has inked a new deal with Disney to star in and produce a film, which will also include original music written and performed by Mars. The Wrap reports that while details of the plot haven’t yet been divulged, the movie will be a music-driven, narrative feature film.

Previously, Mars was a featured voice in the 2014 animated film Rio 2 and appeared in the 1992 film Honeymoon in Vegas as a child actor.

Disney has been busy as of late. The company recently signed a huge deal to distribute Lin-Manuel Miranda’s filmed stage musical Hamilton. The taping will feature the original Broadway cast during its prominent Tony-winning run in 2016. Hamilton is slated for theaters in October 2021.

Last month, fans raised their eyebrows at Disney when they realized Home Alone and its sequel had gotten the boot from Disney+. Both films were among a group of titles that were removed without warning on Jan. 1, which included Doctor Dolittle, Strange Magic, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The Sandlot had also previously disappeared but has since returned.

The Home Alone films were produced by 20th Century Fox, which means Disney owns the right to both. There shouldn’t be any problems with licensing, which makes the removal very confusing. Unfortunately, the series’ questionable third chapter, Home Alone 3 is still available on Disney+.
