A Chuck E. Cheese employee dressed as the famous mascot was arrested while on the job at a Florida location.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, the Tallahassee Police Department arrested the mouse mascot in the presence of kids and families earlier this month.

TPD confirmed to the outlet that the photos of the Chuck E. Cheese arrest were indeed real, and that the man in the suit, identified as Jermell Jones, was arrested for three felonies.

A clip of the arrest shows Jones unmasked, with the mascot head sitting on the top of a squad car.

The Tallahassee Democrat later did some digging via the County Clerk of Courts website and discovered that Jones was charged with theft of credit card, criminal use of personal identification information, and fraudulent use of a credit over two times within six months.

Police spokesperson Alicia Hill told the Tallahassee Democrat that the TPD doesn’t have a specific policy on when arrests are appropriate in public, and the agency relies on "officer discretion" based on the safety of others and ensuring a suspect can’t destroy evidence.

"It is unfortunate that the person who is subject of this investigation and who we had probable cause on happened to be in a suit and in costume," Hill said, adding that officers found the stolen credit card in his possession.

Jones was booked at a local jail and later released on bond.
